As a food reviewer, I was captivated by the welcoming atmosphere from the moment I stepped inside. The tavern exudes a cozy charm, perfect for unwinding after a long day. It’s apparent that the staff genuinely care about the guest experience. Many visitors, including Denise Gingerich and Travis Smith, highlighted the prompt service and friendly demeanor of the wait staff, creating a relaxed yet vibrant dining environment.
The menu offers a delightful array of choices that cater to a variety of tastes. From skin-on fries that maintain their crunch (a feature praised by Denise) to the mouthwatering BBQ Burger that Adrian Mosqueda swears by, every dish is thoughtfully crafted. The tavern features a range of traditional favorites alongside exciting offerings, such as homemade dressings and unique specials like the pretzel sticks and wings. The drink selection at Old Louisville Tavern is equally impressive. Laura Gibson commended the solid beer list and remarkable whiskey selection, ensuring that every meal can be perfectly paired. We are on a road trip and found this place on our way through. OLT was a really great experience all around. We were greeted immediately, and could sit wherever we wanted. The waiting staff serviced us very quickly! Food came out in a timely manner. We got the blueberry mint cider, which was super light and fruit forward. The fries are skin-on, and did not get soggy and greasy at all. Overall a win to eat here.

Reliable food at a neighborhood hangout for the locals! A friendly crew visits this establishment nightly and they welcome new comers! Everyone is welcome at OLT and there is a community vibe everytime we dine there; it’s a big reason we choose to go! The food is great; you can’t go wrong with any option. We’ve had nearly everything on the menu & we’ve never been disappointed. The resturant is always clean, staff is friendly, & they allow dogs on the patio!

We got into town just before dinner and picked it based on the menu and reviews. We were not disappointed. For a Sunday night, it was pretty busy so we knew we found a good spot. Our food was excellent, the beer list is solid, and the whiskey selection is pretty great. We shared the pretzel sticks, kickin chicken, some of the wings, onions rings, and truffle fries. Lauren and Emily were amazing! Excellent service and Emily gave us some great bourbon recommendations and suggestions on things to do in town.

We arrived late on a Sunday (10:00 p.m.) and were so pleasantly surprised to find a hopping spot with an open kitchen. The wings were on special and delicious, as were the homemade dressings. We also shared a salad which was HUGE! Oh and we tried one of their surprise bags, which was such a fun idea for 5.00! The bar tenders Lauren and Emily were fantastic. They gave us so many wonderful menu and local recommendations. They made us feel so welcome on our first night in Louisville. This was top notch service. We will be back for sure!

Very welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable wait staff. The food was so good we tried it twice. The biggest struggle is deciding what to order. It was all great from the burgers, to the sides, to the sandwiches, to the drinks. No problems. Highly reccomended. If I had to pick a winner it would be the BBQ Burger and there homemade onion rings.

The food was amazing. The service was excellent. The cocktails were delicious. Will definitely return the next time I’m in town.

The service here was great. The food was tavern food, where you can’t really go wrong. We did not like how they put yellow cheese in the Philly cheese steak, and then my friend ordered the Mac and cheese with chorizo which was just WAY too spicy for a whole meal. Much spicier than normal buffalo wings I LOVE their chicken tenders batter, but they do lack flavor. My fiance loved the po boy with fried shrimp he said it was unlike anything he had before The atmosphere was good and the drinks were great. I would come back.
